Today is the deadline to submit your absentee ballot. UMW Young Democrats have organized an unprecedented effort to distribute absentee ballot requests across our Fredericksburg campus this year. YD’s dorm stormed over 15 residences, as well as providing 2200 mail box reminders, spreading our message to reach all 4,000+ students. When young voters turn out, we know our party has the most to gain.
With only seven days left, we’ll be working hard to reach out to voters in our community. Canvassing door to door, phone calls, rides to polls, you name it – we’re doing it. Join us this Wednesday at 9pm in Lee Hall to hear from Delegate Al Pollard about his race and the importance of this election. We’ll also be discussing how you can help in the final days leading up to Tuesday.

Sellers is running for Stafford County Board of Supervisors and is currently one of a handful of VA Young Dem’s running for office.
MWYD’s knocked on doors for a combined total of 40 hours, talking with voters about her race and the state-wide Democratic ticket. Their efforts were a part of a broader campaign initiative across Virginia Saturday. Local VAYD chapters “invaded” several smaller district races where their numbers are sure to make a difference.

- MWYD’s leave their mark for the Flagg family.
UMW Young Democrats made their way up to King George Saturday morning to work on a Habitat for Humanity build. The YD’s spent most of the day digging a ditch for the home’s water pump which was installed that afternoon and clearing brush. In all, their efforts helped save the charity $7100 dollars on the estimated contract for the project. In just 3 weeks of school, their efforts have already totaled more than 60 hours of service.
